The highlight of SVOD-2007 will be the presentation of the best fifteen private companies from Russia, Ukraine and other FSU contries. Companies presentations will be judged by our distinguished Panel of Judges. The following innovative projects are pre-selected by the SVOD Expert Panel for presentations to the audience of US investors and potential corporate partners. | | Cell Technologies The company is developing a novel method of manufacturing Paclitaxel, an anti-cancer drug, based on the culture of yew cells produced in a bioreactor. Our technology allows for the production of unlimited quantities of Paclitaxel at a much lower cost in comparison with a traditional way of extracting it from natural yew. Today, Paclitaxel as a drug substance is priced at about $400 per gram and in drug formulation its price ranges between $6,000 and $12,000 per gram. Our estimated cost for the production of the drug substance is $70 per gram. We are seeking $335,000 in seed financing followed by an A-Round of $1,923,000. Cell Technologies plans to gain enough market traction by the third year of operation to become an acquisition target for a larger company.
